The current version of Mi Drive allows users to turn on layers on the map that show speeds, construction, cameras, incidents, snowplow/maintenance vehicles, and truck parking locations. The "S" at the end of the title indicates the direction the camera is actually pointing. Since the camera view is looking at I-495, that name shows up first, and the nearest cross street to the camera location (in this case River Rd.) shows up second. Avoid congestion with our live camera footage in the following metro areas. For example: "I-495 - River S" is a title you typically see on the camera at River Rd. View live traffic camera footage in available metro areas. Both road names generally will be in the title, with the road actually in view as the first name. Most cameras are located at the intersection of two roads. The convention used in our titling is very simple. Sign up for alerts customized to your commute by map location, time, and type of alert. Any time there is a traffic incident within range of our cameras, we may point the camera in that direction. View Traffic Alerts and Streaming Video for Mississippi Highways. Most cameras will be pointed in one direction in the AM rush hours, and in another direction in the PM rush hours. Many local TV stations receive video from us and include it in their morning traffic reports. You may recognize these titles from your morning news. These titles change depending on which way we choose to have the camera pointing. Please contact your local city with questions regarding video, accidents, tickets, fines or unpaid. These cameras are monitoring traffic flow only and do not issue photo enforced tickets. Drivers often mistake traffic cameras which are located on the traffic pole. Our surveillance cameras have built in titling that show up as characters at the top of the picture. Red light cameras are located on the side or the corner of the intersection. ![]()
